Job Overview

A key leadership position is available in the Stakeholder Engagement and Government Relations team within a Federal Government Department.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on stakeholder and government relations initiatives.
  • They will support senior leaders in their external relationships, including Ministers and industry stakeholders.
  • Leadership of engagement with senior executives and collaboration with teams across the agency are required.
  • Maintenance of effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government agencies, market bodies, and industry advocates, is crucial.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in providing strategic advice on stakeholder and government relations within a Federal Government or State Government setting is essential.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, enabling the provision of advice through briefings and correspondence, are required.
  • Proven experience in managing senior executive relationships with key stakeholders is necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, allowing for effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, are essential.
Requirements

Australian citizens are required. A valid Australian Government security clearance must be obtained.

  • Flexible problem-solving skills and the ability to collate and analyse information to make timely decisions are crucial.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and/or contributing to the development of communications plans is highly desirable.
