Job Overview:

Delivering exceptional environmental performance across operational sites is a top priority. To achieve this, we are seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to play a key role in driving site objectives and implementing the Environmental Management System.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving environmental standards, identifying risks, and ensuring effective control measures. They will also oversee internal and external reporting, monitor compliance, and provide expert advice on environmental matters.

  • Drive site environmental objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and implement the Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Identify environmental risks and ensure effective control measures.
  • Ensure timely completion of internal and external reporting.
  • Monitor compliance and lead preventative and corrective actions.
  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders on environmental matters.
  • Lead incident investigations and support external reviews.
  • Manage environmental contractors, consultants, and programs.
  • Deliver training and awareness programs.
  • Participate in audits, reviews, and assurance activities.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of coal mining experience - preferably in Queensland.
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance, and best practice management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing environmental incidents, reporting, and corrective action processes.
  • Highly organized with excellent budgeting, contractor management, and multiple reporting streams.
