We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Professional to manage our environmental performance across an operational site.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environmental risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading the implementation of environmental programs and systems. They will provide expert advice to stakeholders, support incident investigations, manage contractors, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in line with sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Drive site environmental objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain and implement the Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Identify environmental risks and ensure effective control measures.
- Ensure timely completion of internal and external reporting.
- Monitor compliance and lead preventative and corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice to stakeholders on environmental matters.
- Lead incident investigations and support external reviews.
- Manage environmental contractors, consultants, and budgets.
- Deliver environmental training and awareness programs.
- Participate in audits, reviews, and assurance activities.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or equivalent is essential.
- Two years of coal mining experience - preferably in Queensland is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance, and best practice management systems is required.
- Demonstrated experience managing environmental incidents, reporting, and corrective action processes is desirable.
- Highly organised with ability to manage multiple reporting streams is necessary.
