Job Description:

Our Work Health Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of employees by identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing appropriate controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotes workplace health and safety through proactive measures
  • Conducts thorough inspections of workplaces and equipment to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Ensures adherence to organisational procedures and safety standards to maintain a safe working environment
  • Collaborates with contractors to ensure the safety of worksites and work practices
  • Manages personal protective equipment (PPE) usage effectively
  • Ensures hazardous materials are stored and handled correctly
  • Monitors compliance with relevant legislation relating to duty of care, workplace activities, and plant/equipment/substance use
  • Records and reports incidents, accidents, and hazards
  • Investigates accidents and unsafe conditions, recommending corrective action
  • Provides training sessions on health and safety best practices
  • Assists with worker rehabilitation after accidents or injuries
  • Coordinates emergency procedures and communicates with management

Requirements:

Applicants should possess a Diploma or Degree in a relevant field, preferably with certifications such as Forklift Licence, Advanced RTW Certificate, and Food Safety Supervisor Certificate. Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills are essential for effective job performance.
