About Environmental Health and Safety

As a leading manufacturer in the building and interiors industry, we have increasing responsibilities for protecting the environment, human health, and safety.

The role will lead site operations, providing structures, systems, and processes as well as specialist counsel/advice on legislative requirements and coaching/mentoring on EHS behavioural safety tools and principles.

Key focuses and responsibilities include:

  • Engaging and influencing operational stakeholders and managers across all levels of the organisation
  • Driving environmental and site safety awareness via established frameworks and tools
  • EHS planning and systems management with particular focus on ISO 14001 and AS 4801
  • Interpretation and implementation of EHS legislation at state and national level
  • Ensuring the business meets and exceeds EHS reporting and compliance obligations and responsibilities
  • Leading and managing proactive hazard and risk management processes across all sites
  • Lead behavioural safety tools and problem-solving training

We are looking for a proven professional to drive best-practice in our Gympie manufacturing plant.

Requirements

- Tertiary qualification in WHS/EHS, including EHS auditing

- Detailed knowledge of relevant state and federal legislation

- Proven ability to positively influence the behaviours of others, and working in with teams to achieve shared outcomes

- Advanced Excel and data management skills enabling you to extract relevant insights and trends from incident data
