Chef Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our Catering Team at Berkeley Vale Private Hospital, supporting the food preparation for patients, staff, cafeteria, and functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high standard of quality hospital food production and cleanliness is maintained to be in line with the Food Safety Plan, relevant HACCP standards and Hospital policy.
  • Prepare and cook meals, including cold larder preparation and handling of food.
  • Understand and cater to patient dietary requirements.
  • Ensure a clean environment is maintained, including washing and cleaning of equipment.
  • Complete daily food and safety log sheets.
  • Comply with food safety and HACCP standards.
  • Order food and supplies, and manage stock rotation.

Requirements:

  • Certificate in Commercial Cooking.
  • Ability to cater to a wide variety of sensitive dietary requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of allergy management practices.
  • Excellent work ethic, customer service skills, time management skills, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse workplace.
