About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Town Planner to lead our Development Assessment Team in the Sustainable Places Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the assessment and determination of development applications, mentoring and supporting a team of development assessment staff, and collaborating with other sections of the City to improve and enhance the development assessment service, systems, and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offer expert planning advice to the community
  • Oversee the assessment and determination of development applications
  • Mentor and provide support to a team of development assessment staff
  • Collaborate with the Development Assessment Section and other Sections of the City to improve and enhance the development assessment service, systems, and processes
  • Lead the day-to-day activities of a Development Assessment Team
What We Offer
  • Attractive salary range of $111k to $121k per annum plus 11.5% Superannuation
  • Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week
  • Annual performance-based salary increases

Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in urban and regional planning or equivalent

  • Previous leadership experience in a development assessment role
