Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Operations Manager to oversee the efficient unloading of linehaul trailers and containers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maximise Efficiency: Ensure trailers and units are loaded to full capacity, distribute freight accurately, and oversee all unloading activities.
  • Collaborate and Support: Work closely with depot management to address concerns related to revenue, loads, and site operations.
  • Lead and Guide: Supervise forklift operators, receiving officers and general hands, focusing on safety, scanning accuracy, and minimizing freight damage.
  • Monitor and Report: Keep a keen eye on revenue, load accuracy, costs, and service issues, and work towards providing effective solutions.
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain safe load procedures, adherence to Chain of Responsibility, and ensure equipment and resource efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven supervisory experience within the freight industry.
  • Current and valid forklift license.
  • Strong judgment skills with the ability to make firm and fair decisions.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Ability to achieve KPIs and targets, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good time management skills.
