Nuix is on an exciting journey, and we're looking for a skilled Payroll Manager to join our team. As a key member of our People & Culture department, you will have the opportunity to take full ownership of our payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing across multiple geographical locations.



About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Sydney (Australia), with a hybrid work arrangement that includes a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. You will be responsible for leading our payroll function through audits and compliance, following legislation and implementing new enhancements and processes.



Key Responsibilities

  • Global Payroll Processing / Centre of Excellence: Oversee the delivery of accurate and timely processing for all payroll transactions and time management across 10+ geographical locations.
  • Manage payroll system setup and hygiene, including employee profile updates, earning codes, deduction codes, tax configurations, and account ledger allocation.
  • Design and streamline payroll processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communicate needs proactively to stakeholders to drive changes in response to legislative and in-company policy updates.
  • Develop and train the payroll operations team to reduce single-point sensitivities within the department.
  • Coordinate communication with payroll personnel on process changes and establish a continuous improvement program.
  • Foster a customer-focused approach, establishing clear communication channels and processes for employees to contact payroll with enquiries, concerns, or feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Global People & Culture Team and cross-functional teams to provide expert advice on global payroll matters.


Global Payroll Tax / Compliance

  • Stay up-to-date with tax laws and payroll regulations across various locations.
  • Ensure payroll activities comply with local laws and international standards.
  • Promote timely registration, preparation, and submission of required reports and documentation to government agencies.
  • Serve as the key liaison for internal and external payroll-related audits.
  • Establish and maintain internal control procedures to ensure continuous compliance, including consistent and repeatable payroll SOPs.
