About the Role

This position involves working with our Experience of Care team to ensure the voice of lived experience is central to the delivery of our portfolio.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support families and their loved ones through investigations into patient safety issues or complaints within the organisation.
  • Manage interactions with family members and liaise with investigating officers to ensure respectful treatment.
  • Educate staff on the importance of embedding lived experience in feedback and quality improvement processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree level education or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Ongoing professional development in areas such as mental health, learning disabilities, or autism.
  • Training in mental health, learning disabilities, or autism.
  • Quality Improvement qualification.
  • Accessible information training (e.g., easy read, Makaton).

Desirable Skills

  • Lived experience of mental health, learning disability, dementia, or autism (personal or as a carer).
  • Understanding of NHS care structures and terminology.
  • Experience co-designing projects with stakeholders.
  • Influencing policy through lived experience and knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
