About the RoleThis position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating risk management policies and programs. The role involves training employees in work health and safety procedures, monitoring and auditing the workplace, and recording and investigating incidents to ensure safe and healthy working conditions.
The position maintains a robust safety management system and assists with the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and practices. It also provides professional advice on compliance with WHS legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
The role undertakes workplace investigations, including gathering evidence, determining contributing factors, root causes, corrective actions, and systemic approaches to improved health, safety, and wellbeing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and evaluate risk management policies and programs
- Train employees in work health and safety procedures
- Monitor and audit the workplace
- Record and investigate incidents
- Provide professional advice on WHS compliance
- Undertake workplace investigations
To be successful in this role, you will require relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience in Work, Health, and Safety. You will need effective communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
You should also have demonstrated proficiency in time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet predetermined targets and deadlines. Additionally, you will need the flexibility to adapt work practices to meet priorities.
