Homelessness Support Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team of specialists assisting families at risk of or experiencing homelessness in West and South West Sydney.

This is a demanding but rewarding role, requiring initiative, resilience, collaboration, creativity and genuine empathy. You will work with clients in their homes, offices and partner organisations, providing quality support activities and accommodation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing warm and credible empathy to families who are at risk of, who are, or who have been homeless.
  • Articulating practice that is person centred, trauma informed, culturally competent and respectful of diversity.
  • Responding to the safety needs of children at risk of serious harm.
  • Communicating and administering tasks efficiently.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications and experience relevant to the provision of quality support activities for families.
  • A deep understanding of homelessness and its impact on individuals and families.
  • The ability to articulate practice that is trauma informed, culturally competent and respectful of diversity.
  • Competency to respond to the safety needs of children at risk of serious harm.
  • Excellent communication and administrative skills.
