Key Role: To provide critical support and assistance to individuals in need, working collaboratively with case managers to identify and address the root causes of homelessness.

Job Description

This role involves offering a helping hand to young people (12-24 years old) who are facing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless. Working closely with case managers, the successful candidate will help explore housing options, address mental health/AOD concerns, and engage clients with education/employment opportunities.

  • Collaborate with case managers to undertake initial registrations and orient consumers to the service
  • Provide support through brief therapeutic interventions and respond to referrals from internal and external support services
  • Maintain positive stakeholder relationships while providing specialist advice and sharing knowledge of local networks
  • Ensure all required paperwork is completed and undertake other administrative tasks as needed
  • Contribute to program activities including reporting, statistics, feedback summaries, and yearly outcomes
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates will require:

  • A relevant qualification with minimum 1 year's experience working with young people
  • Knowledge and awareness of recovery-oriented practice and trauma-informed care
  • Experience working with clients dealing with issues including homelessness, poverty, abuse, mental health, and substance misuse
  • Strong administrative skills along with effective written and verbal communication
