We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to lead our contract management processes across multiple live projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial contracts and be able to effectively manage relationships with stakeholders.

About the Role

The Senior Contract Manager is responsible for the overall management of contracts, including creation of back-to-back contract terms, providing handover of contract documents, and assisting with the review and negotiation of subcontractors and supplier agreements. They will also provide rights and obligations summaries to project teams and set up processes and templates for site teams to ensure compliance with contract notices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creation of contractual frameworks to pass through head contract obligations to subcontractors
  • Providing contract documentation to project teams
  • Assisting with the review and negotiation of subcontractor and supplier agreements
  • Providing contractual summaries to project teams
  • Establishing procedures and templates for site teams to ensure adherence to contractual requirements
  • Reviewing correspondence and contractual matters
  • Ensuring systems are in place for the management of subcontractors
  • Managing key project documentation/contracts
  • Providing support to project teams for dispute resolution (including recognition of claims, assessment and strength of position in line with contractual entitlements)
  • Assisting in the development of strategies for successful dispute resolution
  • Analysing and reporting on the success of disputes to inform decisions by senior management
  • Ensuring compliance with the delegation of authority matrix and commercial framework
  • Developing relationships with key commercial stakeholders
  • Closing out audit actions within specified timeframes
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 7 years' experience in a similar role within the Australian civil and infrastructure space
  • Degree qualified in Business Law, Construction Management, Commerce, Quantity Surveying or similar
  • A proven track record in managing complex commercial contracts and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders
  • A positive, solution-focused attitude with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
