Salary$459,691 - $620,068 per annum (pro rata), plus salary packaging opportunities.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Consultant to join our dynamic team at CALHN. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-standard clinical care to patients in the Emergency Department.
You will lead a team of healthcare professionals, ensuring excellent patient outcomes and working closely with doctors, nurses, and allied health specialists. Your leadership skills will guide clinical practices in line with Australasian College for Emergency Medicine standards, departmental policies, and hospital protocols.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the education and development of junior medical staff, interns, and medical students. You will also participate in clinical audits, quality and safety initiatives, and clinical risk management activities, driving continuous improvement within the department.
Furthermore, your role will involve involvement in research and ongoing medical education, keeping you at the forefront of emergency medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional care in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent, with registration as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine with AHPRA.
- Proven ability to deliver high-standard clinical care in emergency medicine, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Extensive clinical experience in an emergency department setting, with a focus on quality improvement and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
- Ongoing participation in continuing professional development and up-to-date knowledge of emergency medicine management and quality improvement principles.
