About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at InLife Independent Living. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with complex needs to live independently in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to individuals with physical disabilities, including transfers, use of equipment, and hoisting.
  • Assist with domestic duties, such as cleaning and laundry.
  • Support individuals with mental health needs and behaviors of concern.
  • Work collaboratively with a care team approach, including guidance from professionals, to support individuals to complete regular physiotherapy programs.
  • Transport individuals in your own vehicle, with reimbursement for costs.
  • Work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, with some short shifts, sleepovers, and active night shifts.
Requirements
  • Good judgment and common sense.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Willingness to learn and commit to our values.
  • Experience with catheter care, peg feeding, and bowel care.
  • Experience in seizure management (midazolam trained).
  • Full driver's license and willingness to transport individuals in your own vehicle.
