About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team at InLife Independent Living. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with complex needs to live independently in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including showering, dressing, and using the bathroom.
  • Assist with domestic duties, such as meal preparation and cleaning.
  • Support individuals with physical disabilities, including transfers and the use of equipment.
  • Manage seizures and provide catheter care, peg feeding, and bowel care as required.
  • Work collaboratively with a care team approach, including guidance from professionals, to support clients to complete regular physiotherapy programs.
  • Transport clients in your own vehicle, with reimbursement for costs.
Requirements
  • Good judgment and common sense, with excellent listening skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, including transfers and the use of equipment.
  • Experience in seizure management, catheter care, peg feeding, and bowel care.
  • Full driver's license and a willingness to transport clients in your own vehicle.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, with some short shifts, sleepovers, and active night shifts.
