Professional Standards and Policy Officer Role

The key responsibilities of this position include supporting the development and review of professional standards, guidelines, and policies. This involves conducting research, analyzing data, drafting documents, and coordinating input from committees and stakeholders.

  • Drafting and revising standards, guidelines, and policies
  • Preparing submissions, briefing papers, agendas, and minutes
  • Gathering and collating feedback during consultation processes
  • Monitoring changes in surgical practice, health policy, and professional standards
  • Coordinating projects to meet agreed timelines and reporting needs

This role requires a strong understanding of standards development and governance processes, as well as excellent research and writing skills. The ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain attention to detail is also essential.

About You
  • A degree in public policy, law, political science, or a related field
  • Experience in policy, research, or advisory work, particularly in health, education, or membership organizations
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

This is a full-time ongoing position that can be based out of one of our offices in Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, or Brisbane. You will enjoy a flexible hybrid working arrangement with 1-2 days per week in the office.
