Exciting opportunity to spearhead business growth and development within our Defence division. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for pioneering new initiatives, building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, and managing opportunities from initial identification through to contract negotiation.

The Opportunity

This role offers a unique chance to drive business expansion and contribute to the success of our organisation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute business development activities, leveraging your expertise in sales and marketing to identify and capture new business opportunities.

  • Develop and execute strategic business plans to drive growth and expansion within our Defence division.
  • Liaise with bid teams to ensure deadlines are met and opportunities progressed to submission with strong probability of success.
  • Prepare business professionals and support contract negotiations for allocated key captures when down-selected.
  • Build a robust pipeline of opportunities aligned with our 2025 Defence strategy.
  • Manage opportunities from initial identification through to tender preparation and contract negotiation.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to ensure awareness of any changes that may impact successful achievement of Defence Strategy and business development objectives.
  • Develop marketing strategies and prepare budgets, reports, forecasts, and related information required.

The ideal candidate will have experience in business development or operational roles within Defence or a related field, with a degree or diploma in an engineering or related marketing/management discipline. Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills are essential, as well as excellent people management and interpersonal skills.
