Job Description:

The Strategic Account Director will be responsible for leading a senior sales and relationship leadership role that drives the strategic direction of a major defence portfolio across Australia and New Zealand.

About the Role:

This leadership position will oversee the customer team for a large account engagement within Aust Department of Defence, influencing strategic priorities and driving operational outcomes.

Key responsibilities include leading multi-disciplinary teams operating at several Defence bases in Australia and supporting Defence personnel with their ICT requirements.

The successful candidate will drive the highest level of customer satisfaction and ensure above and beyond delivery of service.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the sales and customer relationship team across geographically dispersed sites for one of the largest account engagements within Aust Dept of Defence.
  • Drive growth through winning and leading strategic capture and bid activities for major Defence programs.
  • Work closely with our delivery team to ensure service performance meets contractual, operational and customer expectations.
  • Identify future opportunities and needs within this Defence account, establishing the company at the forefront of innovation within the market.
  • Partner with primes, SMEs and academia to enhance the company's role in the Defence ecosystem.
  • Maintain and lead core activities within the customer account including performance reporting, monitoring of the contract and commercial arrangements, ensuring service delivery excellence and financial performance.

Requirements and Experience:

  • 10+ years experience within leadership and management roles ideally within a Defence or Federal government organisation with a focus on customer and sales.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative working relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; and excellent NV1 Security Clearance.
  • Previous experience working in Defence is highly desirable.
