Job Description:

The Australian Federal Police is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intelligence Team Leader to join our Intelligence Operations. As a member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in developing our people, setting the directions of our teams and delivering operational and organisational outcomes.

  • Work closely with law enforcement and government agencies at state, territory, Commonwealth and international level.
Our Mission:

Provide dynamic and effective law enforcement to the people of Australia. Policing throughout Australia in relation to the prevention and detection of crimes against the Commonwealth, its laws and integrity, and community police services to the Community of the ACT.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategies and plans for an intelligence team to provide tactical, operational and strategic analysis to influence critical decision making regarding the deployment of operational resources.
  • Support and develop team members in their intelligence professional development and coaching and mentoring team members in their leadership development.
  • Build and sustain mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external networks, in particular key partners across law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
Essential Requirements:
  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Negative Vetting 2 security clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of intelligence concepts and methods.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team of intelligence practitioners within a law enforcement agency, intelligence, defence, federal or state government agency.
