Medical Services Manager Job Overview

EML is a leading Workers Compensation and Personal Injury Claims Management business, dedicated to supporting individuals throughout their return-to-work journey.

As part of our diverse team in Sydney, you will play a vital role in enhancing medical services within the Specialised Insurance Group. This includes supervising and managing a team of clinical advisors to provide strategic, timely, and effective medical management of claims.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimise medical management processes and outcomes. This will involve designing work practices, procedures, and schedules to deliver business objectives, ensuring the appropriate coordination and allocation of resources, and monitoring operational performance metrics.

A key focus area will be analysing medical management practices and driving innovation to optimise outcomes. Additionally, you will be required to maintain awareness of industry developments and trends, and respond effectively to changes. You will also coordinate and deliver individual and group learning and development programs to improve group capability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., healthcare, nursing, occupational therapy)
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in a similar Leadership role, managing teams and working within a fast-paced and high-quality environment within the workers’ compensation or healthcare industry
  • Well-established knowledge of disability and injury management
  • Comprehensive understanding and demonstrated experience working in the personal injury industry, ideally with experience with the workers compensation insurance and legislation
