About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Aboriginal Boarding Supervisor to join our team at Broome Residential College. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our Aboriginal students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality supervision and care to students in a residential setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Initiate, plan, document, and safely lead a wide range of leisure activities for secondary students, promoting their physical, emotional, and social development.
  • Develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, including those from diverse multicultural backgrounds.
  • Organise and participate in community sports, shopping days, outings to the beach and fishing, and other activities that promote student engagement and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of the residential college, including rostered shifts, night duties, and public holidays.
Requirements
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check and consent to a National Criminal History Check.
  • Obtain and maintain a current First Aid Certificate, Provide CPR (HLTAID001), and First Aid Certificate, Provide First Aid (HLTAID003).
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Community Services - Student Residential Care (CHC42021) within six months of commencement.
  • Be willing to work according to rostered hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
