About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Aboriginal Boarding Supervisor to join our team at Broome Residential College. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional well-being of our students, particularly those from Aboriginal backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for students, promoting a positive and culturally responsive boarding experience.
  • Develop and implement activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of students, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and guardians to ensure the well-being and success of students, particularly those with diverse multicultural backgrounds.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of programs that promote the cultural heritage and identity of Aboriginal students.
  • Participate in regular communication and liaison with colleagues, parents, and guardians to ensure the smooth operation of the boarding program.
Requirements
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights.
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a National Criminal History Check.
  • Obtain and maintain a current First Aid Certificate, LR Class Driver's Licence, and Aquatic Rescue for Group III Pool Award.
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Community Services – Student Residential Care within six months of commencement.
