About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our team at GFG Alliance Australia. As a Category Manager, you will play a critical role in driving business success by engaging with suppliers and managing significant contractors and sourcing events for our Whyalla businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate regular contract performance reviews and monitor contract performance to ensure alignment with business plans.
  • Audit contractors to verify compliance with agreed standards and contract requirements, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to deliver increased value from contract relationships, leveraging your expertise in negotiation and influencing.
  • Develop and implement Portfolio/Category Management plans, analyzing data to inform decision-making and drive business growth.
  • Develop and implement strategies to rectify non-compliance in contracts and resolve disputes, ensuring a fair and transparent process.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Purchasing or similar qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • CIPS qualification highly advantageous.
  • High-level negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and negotiate effectively.
  • High-level analytical skills, with the ability to model, analyze, and summarize data to inform business decisions.
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiating and implementing contracts, including a thorough knowledge of legal requirements.
  • Background in a similar manufacturing, mining, oil, and gas, or heavy industry environment.
