Job Title: Economic Empowerment Specialist

This role involves leading initiatives that tackle complex social challenges, including homelessness, food insecurity, and unemployment. The successful candidate will work closely with partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries to advance opportunities for meaningful participation in society and reduce the harmful impacts of poverty on health and wellbeing.



Responsibilities:

  • Staying across emerging research, trends, and best practices in the field.
  • Analysing policies, programs, and interventions to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Providing strategic advice to shape the Foundation's grant-making strategy.
  • Collaborating across teams to design and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Building and strengthening partnerships with community organisations, policymakers, and advocates.
  • Developing thought leadership content, such as reports and briefs, to amplify impact.
  • Monitoring and evaluating initiatives, recommending adjustments where needed.
  • Contributing to broader strategies across the focus area.


Requirements:

  • A relevant university degree and at least 5 years' experience in the economic dignity field, or equivalent expertise.
  • Subject matter knowledge in one or more of the following: housing and homelessness, food insecurity in family and community contexts, employment pathways for parents with young children.
  • Experience working with First Nations people and communities, including fostering partnerships built on trust and respect.
