Gender Equality Specialist

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in a 12-month parental leave cover role. The successful candidate will work closely with other divisions to develop and implement a body of work focused on promoting economic empowerment for women.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of philanthropic and impact investment approaches that support women's economic empowerment.
  • Lead the execution of partnerships and impact investment strategies that increase capital and resources allocated to women entrepreneurs.
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders, including civil society organisations, social enterprises, philanthropic organisations and impact investors.
  • Build connections with influential Australian and global businesses, banks and investors to promote financial inclusion, equality and decent work conditions.
  • Work closely with our Advocacy and Engagement function to advocate for law and policy reform to support economic empowerment for women in Australia and select countries.
  • Collaborate with our Impact Investing team to assist in implementing the impact investment strategy and support opportunities for impact investing.
About You

You will bring a minimum of ten years of professional experience, including experience developing, delivering and/or managing strategies to promote gender equality and/or economic empowerment. This may include experience managing large philanthropic programs and impact investments or experience working on these issues in the private sector.

  • A relevant tertiary degree with an understanding of commercial and financial models.
  • Established networks across impact investing, philanthropy, government and business.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the relevant issues, complexity and challenges associated with financial inclusion and empowerment for vulnerable women.
  • Strategic leadership expertise that sees you transition between big picture thinking and tactical executions.
