Economic Regulation Specialist

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of WA's utilities industry by developing pricing strategies and leading regulatory submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive pricing models for regulated and non-regulated services, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks.
  • Lead the preparation of annual price lists, meeting strict regulatory timeframes while delivering high-quality submissions.
  • Monitor and report on regulatory performance obligations, maintaining compliance with the Electricity Access Code.
  • Foster strong relationships with the Economic Regulation Authority's economic department, driving collaborative outcomes.
  • Contribute to work scopes and investment cases, ensuring they align with regulatory frameworks and business objectives.
  • Provide expert regulatory advice to internal and external stakeholders, promoting informed decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Commerce, or equivalent discipline.
  • Advanced understanding of regulatory businesses, requiring deep knowledge of diverse regulatory practices and principles.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience in large corporate environments.
  • Demonstrated understanding of regulatory frameworks and their impact on business decisions.
  • Excellent business acumen, comprehensive analytical skills, and exposure to risk management and governance processes.
