Sous Chef Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated chef to work closely with our Head Chef, contributing to the creation of exceptional dishes that meet high standards of presentation, flavour, and appearance.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience in a similar role from busy restaurants or cafes, with a strong background in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety. A Diploma Certified in these areas would be an advantage.

As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Head Chef to prepare menus, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. You will also have opportunities to further develop your cooking skills and techniques, working in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Head Chef in preparing menus and controlling kitchen inventory.

  • To ensure all food safety procedures and legislation are followed at all times.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualifications: Diploma Certified in Commercial Cookery and Food Safety.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role from busy restaurants or cafes.
  • Punctual, self-driven, and autonomous, with an open mind for direction and learning.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic.
  • In possession of a valid Australian working visa, able to work in a permanent full-time capacity.
