Job Title: Cybersecurity Expert

    We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Expert to join our team and protect critical infrastructure and data within local communities.

    As a Cybersecurity Expert, you will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and maintaining the security of council systems and networks to ensure the safety of sensitive information and critical operations.

  • Monitoring and analysing network traffic to identify security threats.
  • Investigating and responding to security incidents and breaches.
  • Conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Implementing and maintaining security policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and relevant legislation.
  • Collaborating with IT teams to strengthen system defences and mitigate risks.
  • Providing security training and awareness to internal teams.

    To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, extensive experience in cybersecurity, threat detection, and incident response, strong knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and Essential Eight, and proficiency with security tools, SIEM systems, and vulnerability management platforms.
