About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Fundamentals Manager to join our team at CommBank. As a key member of our Risk Management team, you will play a critical role in supporting the Everyday Banking team in achieving their ambition to be the bank of choice for our customers' everyday banking needs.

Your primary responsibility will be to support the Everyday Banking team in the appropriate management of issues, incidents, regulatory reporting, and Line 1 risk advisory. You will work closely with teams across EDB and our value chain to ensure that our risk framework requirements are met and that the business operates within risk appetite.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, understand, and manage issues and incidents across the portfolio and drive insights to prevent future issues and incidents.
  • Assist with management of strategic relationships with internal and external parties to ensure effective implementation and initiatives and programmes in reducing and resolving complaints.
  • Set expectations and manage data quality, including RiskInSite, to provide senior business leaders with insights on monthly management reporting and regulatory reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the business operating environment by using data to generate insights and reports.
  • Lead and coach team members to identify, initiate, and manage actions to mitigate risks and to strengthen the control environment, including issues identified through audits and other external processes.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Risk Manager who has a strong understanding of operational and compliance risk frameworks. You will have the ability to analyse and identify risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions. You will also have influencing and consulting skills, the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

A background in Data, Technology, or Product is preferred but not essential. We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done, with at least half their time each month connecting in office. We also have many other flexible working options available, including changing start and finish times, part-time arrangements, and job share.
