Senior Pharmaceutical Facilities Operations Manager Job Description

The role is for an experienced professional to oversee the maintenance, safety, and operations of a facility in Melbourne.

  • Responsibilities include:
  1. Overseeing daily operations of all facility functions, including maintenance, safety, janitorial services, compliance, landscaping, pest control, IFM scope, hard and soft services.
  2. Developing and implementing facility management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  3. Coordinating and supervising maintenance activities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.
  4. Managing resource allocation for maintenance and improvement projects.
  5. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to facility operations, including safety, environmental standards, and manufacturing process.
  6. Leading and managing a team of facility staff and contractors, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  7. Planning and overseeing renovations, refurbishments, and building projects to ensure timely completion.
  8. Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure facilities meet regulatory and company standards.
  9. Collaborating with other departments to support operational needs and ensure seamless facility operations.
  10. Responding to emergencies and facility-related issues promptly and effectively.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities management, preferably in the pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of GxP & GMP practices.
  • Full, unrestricted work rights in Australia.
  • Ability to pass National Police Check.

The ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of applicable Australian Standards and strong leadership and team management skills.
