Business Operations Manager

Our law firm is seeking a skilled Business Operations Manager to oversee our day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless management of our business activities. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, human resources, and IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage billing, budgets, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, profit and loss, cash flow reporting, and liaise with external accountants.
  • Ensure compliance with trust accounting regulations by managing receipting, payments, end-of-month reconciliations, and record-keeping.
  • Oversee the maintenance of practice management systems (Smokeball, Xero) and manage equipment, facilities, and technology infrastructure.
  • Provide strategic planning and reporting, including fee earner reporting, workflow analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Manage vendor relationships, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure effective communication with service providers.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in legal practice management or professional services operations.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, and IT systems, particularly Xero and Smokeball.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to influence positive change.
  • Ability to work directly with senior leaders in a fast-paced environment.
