Training Captain Job Description

The Training Captain position is a key role within our organization, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of vessels. As a Training Captain, you will play a critical part in executing vessel assignments, planning routes, and implementing operating plans.

This role requires a high level of expertise in vessel handling and navigational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and without direct supervision. You must possess strong written and oral communicative skills, be able to economically supervise all aspects of vessel operations, and adapt to a variety of schedules and hours.

  • Ensure safe navigation of the vessel at all times.
  • Conduct required drills, training, safety meetings, and maintain records of such.
  • Conduct and ensure compliance with vessel maintenance and inspection requirements.
  • Inspect vessel to ensure conformance with safety standards and maritime regulations.
Requirements
  • Must possess and maintain a USCG Master 200/500/1600 Oceans or Near Coastal license, Master of Towing, STCW, Radar Endorsement, MMC, and TWIC.
  • 5 years experience as a Master or Operating Mate on towing vessels.
  • Valid state driver's license.
Compensation

Pay for this position will vary based on experience and qualifications.
