Senior Stakeholder Manager

This is a pivotal role in the infrastructure sector, responsible for leading efforts to strengthen relationships with industry stakeholders and government at all levels. The Director Membership, Communications & Stakeholder Engagement position requires strategic planning and hands-on delivery to ensure effective representation of interests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Broaden existing networks with state and local governments, industry leaders, and key stakeholders
    • Develop policy and advocacy strategies that align with stakeholder interests
    • Map the government and stakeholder landscape to identify opportunities for collaboration and influence
    • Represent the organisation in forums, consultations, advisory groups, and industry discussions
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Retention:
    • Drive initiatives that strengthen stakeholder engagement, retention, and growth
    • Conduct outreach to stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities
    • Develop and implement stakeholder outreach strategies to support retention and growth
    • Enhance the organisation's visibility, profile, and value proposition within the infrastructure industry
  • Communications, Promotion & Strategy:
    • Lead initiatives that strengthen communications, visibility, and promotional activities
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of operational plans
    • Contribute to internal planning processes through analysis of stakeholder trends and feedback
    • Support the Executive Team in identifying opportunities for sector growth and positioning the organisation as the authoritative voice of the industry
  • Events, Training & Workforce Development:
    • Coordinate and support events, conferences, and training programs
    • Assist with the promotion and delivery of training initiatives that support workforce development
    • Assist with the development of promotional materials, newsletters, and industry updates
    • Contribute to the organisation's communication strategies to enhance visibility
    • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure high-quality learning opportunities
    Requirements:
    • Strong relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
    • Proven experience in government relations, member-based organisations, or advocacy roles
    • Demonstrated ability in strategy development and planning
    • Knowledge of event coordination desirable
    • Understanding of infrastructure, engineering, or road industry sectors an advantage
    • Excellent organisational, time management, and project management skills
    • Proactive, adaptable, and capable of working both strategically and operationally
    • Experience using CRM tools
