About this role

A comprehensive opportunity for a Senior Safety and Compliance Specialist to integrate an acquired business and elevate it to Holcim standards. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Enhancing Traffic Management, Isolation, Contractor Management, and high-risk work practices such as Work at Heights, Hot Work, and Confined Spaces.
  • Developing line management and supervisor health & safety capabilities through visible felt leadership and ensuring effective implementation of safety systems and processes.
  • Supporting strategic plan initiatives at an operational level and providing consultancy, coaching, and support services to managers and supervisors on safety and health matters.

This crucial position reports directly to the National Health and Safety Manager and is pivotal in bringing an acquired business up to par with Holcim's esteemed standards.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A relevant qualification or substantial experience with a willingness to pursue further qualifications.
  • Previous experience in a safety leadership role within high-risk environments, preferably in quarrying, mining, oil & gas, heavy industrial manufacturing, or related sectors.
  • Knowledge of OH&S legislation and practices.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety record-keeping systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and promote a zero-harm culture.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.

Holcim offers a competitive salary package, including a base salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
