Key Responsibilities:

  • Support consumers by building positive relationships, promoting self-reliance, and providing effective processes.
  • Act to de-escalate behaviour when consumers become distressed or agitated, employing negotiation and mediation skills.

Requirements:

  • Cert IV in Mental Health / Peer Work / Disability Services / Community Services
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapist
  • Experience working with people with lived experiences of mental health issues and/or psychosocial disability (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people experiencing crisis or disadvantage
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people who have complex needs
  • De-escalation, negotiation, and mediation skills
