Senior Policy Strategist Role

The role of Senior Policy Strategist is crucial in addressing complex challenges within Queensland's innovation sector.

You will provide proactive and collaborative approaches to your work, building strong relationships with stakeholders and translating complex issues into clear, evidence-based policy recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify new and existing issues requiring policy development or review and undertake research and analysis to develop evidence-based advice for senior management.
  • Provide strategic advice and knowledge translation to internal and external stakeholders on the Government's innovation policy, governance, priorities, and programs.
  • Lead or contribute to the preparation and development of high-level advice, Cabinet submissions, responses, plans, reports, policy documents, briefing notes, and other departmental correspondence such as presentations, strategic policy, and research papers.
  • Develop and administer initiatives and actions across allocated programs to create high-value jobs and provide positive economic outcomes.
  • Create and foster relationships across the innovation ecosystem through constructive conversations that support innovation across Queensland.
  • Identify opportunities to grow the Queensland innovation ecosystem and collaborate across priority industry sectors.
  • Work strategically to actively solve problems and deliver outcomes and results in a dynamic environment while maintaining professional processes and protocols.
