Water Infrastructure Project Leader

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the review of detailed engineering needs for water treatment and desalination plant designs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in water infrastructure projects, including wastewater treatment plants, drinking water treatment plants, and desalination facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the review of detailed engineering needs for water treatment and desalination plant designs.
  • Provide technical oversight during the bidding process, including surveillance and assessment of proposed procedures.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and improve bid quality.
  • Support the bidding team in standardisation tasks and contribute to the development of consistent technical approaches.
  • Conduct detailed process optimisation for mechanical systems in water treatment projects.
  • Prepare mechanical equipment data sheets and perform technical tabulations for desalination plant components.
  • Review technical documentation post-purchase and ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Follow up on detailed engineering progress through to project completion.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Extract and communicate key technical information from bid documents.
  • Propose technical improvements to enhance bid competitiveness and feasibility.
  • Prepare and contribute to significant portions of client proposals, presentations, and defences.
  • Maintain accurate and effective documentation throughout the bid and project phases.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Supervise and guide assigned team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Required Skills And Competencies:
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Lead or Senior Mechanical Engineer in water infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems design, optimisation, and equipment specification.
  • Demonstrated involvement in major tenders within the region.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple disciplines.
  • Familiarity with bidding processes, technical documentation, and vendor engagement.
