About the Role

The Department of Defence of Australia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Deputy Director, Explosives Personnel Policy. This role is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of all learning and development initiatives within Defence, specifically relating to explosives safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of comprehensive learning and development programs tailored to the needs of personnel handling explosives.
  • Ensure that all learning materials and programs meet and exceed regulatory standards, effectively enhancing the competence and safety awareness of all personnel involved with explosives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the Defence Enterprise to inform the management of critical explosives safety risks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a learning and development team to enhance their skills and effectiveness in delivering high-quality educational content.
About Our Team

The Directorate of Ordnance Safety is an outcome-focused, principle-based framework that aligns with Commonwealth Work Health and Safety legislation for managing the risks that Explosive Ordnance presents. The ESRF integrates with and supports Defence work health and safety policy and other related Defence regulatory systems that enable Defence Capability.
