We are currently seeking an experienced corporate banking professional to lead our Australian Corporate Banking team in Sydney or Melbourne.

This leadership role offers the opportunity to manage and grow relationships with key corporate clients, drive strategic dialogue, deliver comprehensive banking solutions, and contribute to our organization's success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of key corporate clients, understanding their strategic objectives, financial needs, and industry challenges.
    • Manage and deepen long-term relationships with C-suite executives and senior management, fostering a collaborative environment.
    • Achieve financial objectives by leveraging our full spectrum of products and services.
  • Business Development & Origination
    • Proactively identify opportunities to cross-sell our product solutions across Banking, Markets, and Treasury and Trade Solutions, driving revenue growth.
    • Collaborate with product partners and global teams to deliver integrated solutions to our clients.
    • Lead the origination, structuring, and execution of complex transactions and financings, ensuring timely delivery.
    • Identify and pursue new client relationships where we are uniquely positioned to meet their banking needs.
  • Credit & Risk Management
    • Actively manage credit exposure and associated risks within the client portfolio, allocating capital prudently.
    • Ensure compliance with our risk frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Market & Industry Knowledge
    • Keep abreast of market trends, industry developments, and the competitive landscape, providing insights and thought leadership to clients.
  • Leadership and Team Collaboration
    • Foster a collaborative environment with product partners, risk management, and global teams, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
    • Mentor and lead junior team members, contributing to their professional development.
    • Contribute to the overall strategic direction, culture, and success of the Corporate Bank in Australia.
    Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
    • MBA or Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate banking, investment banking, or a related financial services role.
    • Proven track record of originating and executing complex financial transactions.
    • Deep understanding of corporate finance principles, capital markets, and transaction banking products.
    • Strong credit analysis skills and solid understanding of risk management.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships at a senior level.
    • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to identify solutions to client problems.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
