EHS Coordinator

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Safety Officer to join our Operations and Maintenance Team at Wärtsilä Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections, audits, and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment. They will also provide guidance and training to employees and assist the Facility Maintenance Superintendent in achieving high standards of safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Periodic review of Safety Management Plans to ensure compliance with relevant occupational health & safety and environmental standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and site audits to identify potential EHS risks and hazards, report them, and support corrective action planning.
- Ensure compliance with relevant occupational health & safety and environmental standards and regulations.
- Conduct OHS incident investigations and complete incident reports.
- Coordinate and assist with emergency procedures and periodic emergency drills.
- Conduct facility inductions.
- Complete HSE monthly reporting to support.
- Assist the Site Superintendent in meeting client HSE KPI requirements.
- Where required, assist Site Superintendent with switching and electrical permit requirements and job safety assessment.
Requirements:
- Mandatory, min requirement Certification 4 in WHS (Work Health & Safety).
- Computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Electrical background and/or higher preferred; certification in electrical safety or a related field will be an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Prior industry experience.
