Job Summary

QinetiQ is a global defence and security company seeking a seasoned financial leader to join our Australia Sector as Chief Financial Officer. As a key member of the Sector leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and leadership to drive business growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial stewardship and leadership to the Australia Sector, ensuring alignment with Group Finance strategy and policy.
  • Collaborate with Group Chief Financial Officer and Group Financial Controller to evolve and improve Group Finance strategy and procedures.
  • Accountable for Australia Sector financial performance management and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain the governance framework within the Sector, including legal, risk, and assurance activities.
  • Lead financial support for key business activities across the value chain, including winning and delivering business, investment decisions, and strategic planning.
  • Partner with the Sector leadership team to develop and execute a business plan, including organic growth, inorganic acquisitions, and strategic disposals.
  • Work closely with the Sector Chief Growth Officer and Chief Operating Officer to maintain reliable forecasts and drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with the People Function and Chief Shared Services Officer to design and execute a future-fit payroll strategy aligned with Group payroll strategy.

Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualifications or equivalent, with significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance role within a commercial environment.
  • Experience working across geographies and jurisdictions, with the ability to adapt and evolve in different cultures.
  • Detailed understanding of IFRS and local accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering in complex matrix organizations.
  • Proven ability to drive efficiency, financial control, and process reviews.
  • Experience delivering fit-for-purpose reports, information, analysis, and advice to senior executives.
