Chief Compliance Officer

At Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Australia's leading independent law firm, we are seeking a Chief Compliance Officer to oversee our Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) compliance program.
The estimated salary for this role is around $200,000 per annum, based on industry standards and the company's expectations.

Job Description
We are looking for a seasoned professional with strong experience in designing, managing, and implementing key AML/CTF compliance programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic direction to the firm in the design and implementation of enhanced policies, systems, and procedures for Business Intake aligned with industry best practice.
- Overseeing the implementation of the firm's AML/CTF Program, including training and communications, engagement with key stakeholders, audits, and regular review of the program.
- Managing all aspects of day-to-day Business Intake, including client and matter due diligence, AML/CTF risk assessments, and engaging with stakeholders.
- Managing and supervising the firm's Business Intake Team, including advising on the appropriate composition and structure of the team aligned with the firm's needs and industry best practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Strong previous experience in designing, managing, and implementing key AML/CTF compliance programs, preferably in an international law firm.
- Experience of AML/CTF, KYC/CDD processes, and systems such as Intapp Risk and other compliance risk platforms.
- Detailed knowledge of AML/CTF requirements and risks associated with the range of services in the legal industry.
- A bachelor degree or higher qualification, preferably with a recognized AML/Compliance qualification.
- An experienced people manager who can adapt their management style to different individuals with at least 3 years' demonstrable experience of driving successful performance.
