About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Chief Compliance and Regulatory Officer to join our team in Melbourne. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and expertise on privacy and regulatory matters across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice in respect of privacy and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Identify and report on upcoming changes to law and regulation, assessing their impact on the business and developing strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Deliver comprehensive and reliable legal advice to leadership teams on privacy and regulatory matters, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Maintain formal relationships between Bupa and relevant regulators, drafting regulatory correspondence and ensuring effective communication.
  • Stay up-to-date on developments in law and regulation, ensuring that advice provided is sound, accurate, and relevant.
  • Explore and adopt legal process management initiatives to optimize the provision of legal services to the business.
  • Develop relationships and collaborate within Bupa APAC and Bupa global legal team to deliver outcomes for the business.
About You
  • You hold a Law degree from an Australian or international university and a current relevant practicing certificate in a state Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia.
  • You have experience at Senior Associate level at a law firm or equivalent senior lawyer in-house, with a strong background in Privacy and Regulatory.
  • You possess strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, as well as commercial acumen to provide pragmatic legal advice.

  • A salary range of $140,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
