Commercial Contracts Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Contracts Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing commercial support to drive favourable outcomes for our business.

The role encompasses reviewing and negotiating tenders, customer supply contracts, and addressing other commercial issues. You will work closely with our sales directors, general managers, and legal teams to achieve desired results.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Support commercial contract negotiations by coordinating reviews, obtaining input from stakeholders, and finalizing approval and execution.
  • Oversee contract execution and compliance, manage variation requests, and address commercial issues.
  • Have knowledge of our commercial manual and support business decisions.
  • Support the regional strategic leadership team on commercial issues.
  • Be familiar with our insurance policies and advise on coverage issues.
  • Demonstrate commitment to our zero-harm behaviours.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of tender and/or commercial contract experience as a contract manager or advisor.
  • Mining/engineering/construction industry experience is highly desirable but not required.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and understand commercial ramifications of contract provisions.
  • Ability to draft legal contract amendments/clauses.
  • Good commercial sense and excellent contracting skills.
  • Effective communication skills to speak fluently about business and legal priorities.
