Avant Mutual is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Manager to join our Perth-based claims team in a permanent, full-time position.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned claims professional to support our members through the management of their claims, providing expert advice and guidance every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities
  • Claims Management: Manage member claims and investigations to support our members, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Indemnification Guidance: Provide guidance, advice, and support in the indemnification of claims, ensuring our members receive the best possible outcome.
  • Claims Strategy: Proactively formulate a claims management strategy for the member, taking into account their specific needs and circumstances.
  • Partnering with Solicitors: Partner with solicitors to support our members in claims as required, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Claims Services: Contribute to Avant's provision of claims services, including special projects, writing articles, and presentations.
  • Medico-Legal Advice: Participate in the resourcing of the medico-legal advice hotline, providing expert advice and guidance to our members.
Requirements
  • Tertiary Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in legal, health, or business.
  • Claims Management Experience: Previous demonstrated experience in insurance claims management.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Strong understanding of current health and insurance legislation.
  • Time Management: Strong focus on time management and work management.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Document Management: Proven ability to work in an electronic document management system.
