About the Role

The Claims Specialist will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to assess and resolve property claims. This role involves working with a broad range of stakeholders, including customers, builders, and specialists, to identify loss and develop appropriate scope of works for repairs and remediation.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret policies and determine the correct policy response. They will also have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess property loss or damage and determine policy coverage
  • Work closely with builders, engineers, restorers, and scoping consultants to develop scope of works for repairs and remediation
  • Communicate clearly and accurately with stakeholders, including customers, claims managers, repairers, and suppliers
  • Deliver professional and brilliant service when completing on-site, desktop, and virtual assessments
  • Support the claims manager to identify customer resolution strategies to minimize customer escalations
  • Determine an appropriate claim fulfillment method that balances customer needs with business outcomes
  • Identify customers experiencing vulnerability and take appropriate action to ensure the customer is supported
  • Respond to customer and stakeholder requests within expected or agreed timeframes
  • Clearly document all decisions made and reasons, including ownership details, reserve changes, and acceptance/rejection of claims

About You

  • Home claims insurance, assessing, loss adjusting, or property manager experience
  • Strong ability to interpret policies and determine the correct policy response
  • Capability to use different technology/systems
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills
  • Proven performer in customer service roles
  • Skilled in analysis, problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills
  • Current unrestricted driver's license
