About the Role
The Claims Assessor role is a critical part of our Claims team at Suncorp Group. As a Claims Assessor, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to assess property loss or damage, determine policy coverage, and develop appropriate solutions for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess property loss or damage and determine policy coverage, including claim quantum, scope, and schedule.
- Work closely with Builders, Engineers, Restorers, and Scoping Consultants to determine reserve within delegation levels.
- Communicate clearly and accurately with stakeholders, including customers, claims managers, repairers, and suppliers.
- Deliver professional service when completing on-site, desktop, and virtual assessments, interacting with customers on the claims manager's request.
- Support the Claims Manager to identify customer resolution strategies to minimize customer escalations.
- Determine an appropriate claim fulfillment method that balances customer needs with business outcomes.
- Identify customers experiencing vulnerability and take appropriate action to ensure the customer is supported.
- Respond to customer and stakeholder requests within expected or agreed timeframes.
- Clearly document all decisions made and reasons, including ownership details, reserve changes, and acceptance/rejection of claims.
Requirements
- Home Claims Insurance, Assessing, Loss adjusting, or Property Manager experience.
- Strong ability to interpret policies and determine the correct policy response.
- Capability to use different technology/systems.
- Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
- Proven performer in customer service roles.
- Skilled in analysis, problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
- Current Unrestricted Driver's License.
