Job Overview

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Photobioreactor Automation to contribute to the commercialisation of algal technologies. This role involves translating laboratory innovations into industry-ready solutions, including elite strain development and scalable cultivation protocols.

In this position, you will have opportunities to contribute to research growth areas, engage with industry professionals, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will be a critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • To be successful in this role, you will have experience in algal cultivation, including working with photobioreactors, chlorophyll a fluorescence measurement, and data analysis with advanced visualisation techniques.
  • You should also be proficient in preparing custom growth media, maintaining good laboratory practices, and troubleshooting lab equipment such as photobioreactors and liquid handling robots.

Requirements

  • A PhD in biology with a focus on microalgae or a related field.
  • Experience working with microalgae and a strong understanding of biological systems, cell biology, and the physiology of microorganisms.
  • A proven track record of research publications and the ability to secure competitive research grants.
